[Exclusive] First Look at the Motorola ThinkPhone, Processor, and RAM Information

In advance of the smartphone’s projected 2023 release, further information about the Motorola ThinkPhone has come to light. Motorola is rumored to be selling the device under the name “ThinkPhone,” and it will have features including a 50 MP primary camera, a large pOLED display, and a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU.

Now let’s talk about the Motorola ThinkPhone

Approximately two months after Evan Blass first disclosed information about the next smartphone, the ThinkPhone has leaked online once more. Although Blass hasn’t claimed responsibility for these most recent disclosures, it seems that he was involved. According to TheTechOutlook, the specifications and a ton of promotional pictures appear to have been taken from an early ThinkPhone listing.

Recall that in October, Blass asserted that the ThinkPhone would debut with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, not the more recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Tech Outlook said that an 8 GB RAM variant will also be offered, contradicting the leaker’s claims that the device would ship with up to 12 GB of RAM. The Tech Outlook estimates that the ThinkPhone’s 1080p display, which is based on a pOLED screen and is 6.6 inches wide, would also be used. For comparison, the 50 MP primary, 13 MP ultra-wide, and 2 MP depth of field cameras are still present, despite the 16 MP front-facing sensor allegedly being replaced with a 32 MP one.

A fingerprint scanner built into the display, IP resistance of some sort, and file-sharing compatibility with Lenovo laptops are all mentioned in the numerous marketing photos. The ThinkPhone also appears to offer wireless charging and 68 W rapid charging. Unfortunately, neither Evan Blass nor The Tech Outlook have provided a release date or a price. Despite its evident connections to Lenovo, the ThinkPhone will instead be released as a Motorola smartphone, most likely due to the latter’s established reputation as a maker of smartphones.
